Leesburg Diner Review: Delicious Breakfast in Downtown Leesburg

A local favorite for breakfast or lunch is the Leesburg Diner, located in the heart of downtown on King Street. My family loves to stop in occasionally as a special treat after church on Sunday.

This is not your stereotypical greasy spoon diner, it’s elevated, healthy, and delicious breakfast and lunch fare. One classic diner trait that I love is that the server leaves a carafe of coffee on the table, so you never have to wait for refills!

During this particular meal, enjoyed in February prior to the COVID-19 stay at home recommendation, we enjoyed Eggs Benedict, Huevos Rancheros, a chocolate chip pancake for the kids, and cinnamon rolls.

This restaurant has a kid friendly atmosphere, but be aware that there is no kids menu. Our kids have been satisfied with the a la carte breakfast menu items, so the lack of a kids menu has not been a problem for us. The restaurant has enough ambient noise that children are not a disruption to others, and the televisions in the restaurant provide distraction to the kids when they’re done eating. As it is in a historic building, the bathrooms are small and do not have changing tables.

Neighborhood Spotlight: Leesburg Gateway II

Leesburg Gateway II is a condominium complex in the town of Leesburg, inside the bypass, near the intersection of Gateway Drive and Harrison Street. The buildings in the complex all have addresses on Constellation Square SE.

Leesburg Gateway II is a popular complex, with some original owners still in residence. Residents love the location, which is convenient to downtown Leesburg, Market Street, and Route 7. People rave about how quickly they can get to anything.

The community is also set apart by the friendly community atmosphere. Residents know their neighbors, and people help one another. One woman shared a story about how her neighbors took her to urgent care after an injury recently.  The neighborly vibe and pride in residence is evidence by how people take care of their door areas, with many decorating with wreathes and other ornamentals.

Residents also speak highly of the HOA management company. Every stairwell has a bulletin board with the latest news and reminders. The management company also provides useful services, such as coordinating dryer vent cleaning annually (included in the HOA dues).

The outdoor spaces of the community are well maintained. The neighborhood is dog friendly, and dog owners are diligent about picking up after their pets and keeping clean walkways and grass. There is also plenty of visitor parking.

Leesburg Gateway II has 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units that are sold and rented. It’s a popular neighborhood, so places get scooped up quickly. I am very familiar with the rental and sale markets in this community, and I would be happy to help you find your new home in Leesburg Gateway II.  Call or email me today!

Town Profile: Leesburg (Master Gardener Demo Garden & Community Garden)

Northern Virginia towns offer so much to residents, and two of the many offerings in Leesburg are the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden and the Community Garden! I enjoyed a visit to both locations this past Friday evening.

The Demo Garden and Community Garden are located next to each other in Ida Lee Park. This is just north of downtown, and walking distance to the following neighborhoods: Andover Meadow, Exeter, Exeter Hills, Leesburg Historic District, Manors of Leesburg, Paxton, Peer Manor, and Warren Hill.

The Demo Garden is maintained by Loudoun County Master Gardeners, and it’s a beautiful garden to visit! The garden contains several sections, each with a different emphasis. Since I was visiting with my son, we appreciated the children’s garden.

The Community Garden offers plots for rent to residents, allowing those who may not have garden space at home an opportunity to grow!  I really enjoyed seeing how each gardener was given essentially the same space, but made his or her own choices and each space was unique!

Here is more information about the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden and the Community Garden. I hope you can enjoy visiting them soon!
